GBNC Membership Trophy 

The following guidelines are to be used when calculating the net increase in Membership for each Circle.

The results will be expressed as a percentage to level out anomalies associated with larger, vibrant Circles competing with smaller, rural Circles.

The MWG Chair’s decision is final in all cases.

Calculation

The following figures will be used to determine the net growth in membership.

1. Number of Members at start of Catenian Year in your Circle.
2. Number of deaths recorded in your Circle during the Catenian Year.
3. Number of New members in the Catenian Year.
4. Number of Resignations / forfeitures in the Catenian Year.

The number of Members (1) less deaths (2) is the net sum, referred to as A.

The number of New enrolled Members (3) less any Resignations/forfeitures is net gain referred to as B.

B divided by A, expressed as a percentage is the net gain.

Example.

(1) = 100, (2) = 4, giving a net 96 Members, referred to as A.

(3) = 10 new Members less (4) resignations = 3, gives a net increase of 7, referred to as B.

(B/A)   7/96 = 7.29% increase.   (Always calculate to 2 decimal points).
